As usual, I enjoyed the video! Thanks, Peter, I have one of those Uniden President's that I lost the output on, so I have some work to do. 73...Dan
Very nice video. Thank you for sharing!
Your going to have to speed things up, your dragging the lesson out to long, do not repeat just move on. Thanks
Awesome video. I have forgotten the basics of trouble shooting as I have been out of radio servicing for 17 years. Thanks for the refresher course.
excellent troubleshooting !!!!!!!     GREAT VIDEO!!
Good demonstration on how to troubleshoot. Thanks.
i learned a lot thanks
Excellent video for me who have never done any faultfinding on my own yet. I learned a lot thank you for sharing.

Hello Carlos, the best way to test modulation is apply a sample of the mic audio to the horizontal input of a scope and an RF sample to the
vertical. The resulting trapezoid pattern will reveal not only modulation percentage, but also distortion, noise, hum flat-topping etc.
And for SSB use the pattern to adjust the balanced modulator for minimum residual carrier.

Yes Sir, lots of work and knowledge gained in isolating that shorted capacitor. Since the voltage rating was 10 for the capacitor, I would
have finished up by checking the actual applied voltage and looking for a possible transient that caused it to fail. Do they rate them with
both peak and working voltage nowdays ?

Super video. Very clear and methodical. A teaching moment for me. I am new to the hobby and frustrated at my ignorance. You helped me in developing a plan when approaching repairs.
Very good video. Thinks for the detailed information 73s.

Wow!   Awesome videos. You make it seem so easy.  Perhaps you'd like to be my mentor.  I had electronics in college 30 (ahem) years ago.  I spent my career in AV which didn't require component level theory/repair so all but the basic skills were pretty much forgotten.  Semi retired now and finally have some time to do do my own thing.  I purchased a dead Kenwood TS 940 and brought it back to life.  Power supply transistors shorted and then also re-capped it. While going over the schematics, I quickly realized how much I had forgotten.  Everything seemed to run together. I was lucky the schematic had color lines for signal and power. HUGE HELP.  With your videos, things are starting to fall into place again although I have to admit, RF does weird things and still baffles me.  Keep the videos coming.   N3YZF
The glorious old Lincoln, with its beewuueep roger beep like none other. :)
With the multi-meter when you are probing the voltages where is the black lead connected?   Is it connected to the earth?  Thanks for the video.
I did not recognize the brand of electrolytics which you replaced; were they of low quality? Perhaps if they were a good brand, like Nichicon, the problem would not have occurred.
I must be missing something their was no link at the end of your talk or in the comments. Were is your web site
