thanks so much for the video helped out completely very well done !
Thanks for the info
Hey cryptic, can you do a "how to" set/test the power on the cb using this same meter? Thanks.
Dies it matter if you have a short antenna or a long whip antenna?
Great video for a tutorial with my first time tuning a CB.
Ya I put a spring on my antenna and I was able to get it down to 2. Which I hers is safe enough to operate on. Which is important course I'm running high power at 350 Watt's.
I have a Uniden pro 520 xl, I don't see a tuning or calibrate switch or setting. Is this necessary when tuning with the attached swr meters?

Thanks for your video, just put a brand new Uniden Bearcat in my Polaris Ranger and both Channels 1 & 40  hit 1.1 first time, and now back to the Zombies.
When I check my SWR, Everybody says get to an open area, but I don't know how open it needs to be. Best I can do without driving all over looking for a wide open spot is about 40 feet all around. Is that sufficient? My mobile on the truck is right now at 1.3 SWR on ch1,19, 40, which for a mobile stake hole mount base loaded 64 inch 4 inch spring (same ones as in the video) I can live with I guess. I think I might be able to reduce it more if I run a ground cable from the stud mount to the frame. I know that the antenna is electrically the right length so I guess maybe I don't have adequate ground plane. Unless my Meter is "seeing" things surrounding the truck or say, the cab..... I can talk about 4 to 5 miles in the city which I think I'm doing pretty good for a stock radio in a mobile installation. Of course CB guys won't usually answer your questions but since I see you only have a couple CB videos you might. I've done a lot of reading on this. Not sure if it's really worth to chase that last .3 watts of dead key but if it's 2 watts of modulation maybe, I dunno.
Good video do have to watch out for them zombies they are out there

I for some reason thought the higher ch.#40 was supposed to be slightly higher than ch. 1. I'm glad to know the real deal. Also I thought your video was good and well put together. Thanks for the good work, I just bought my own meter and I'm glad to have seen your video, it helped me understand how they work.   Thanks- Trubalo  From So. Cal.
Great video. I checked the swr on my cobra 29 ltd classic using iys own swr cal.
My readings were 3.0 on Channel 40 and 1.0 on Channel 1.
Guess i have to shorten my firestick huh?
That is interesting to know and I have an old 24 channel CB radio and just purchased a Cobra 40 channel radio and a magnetic mount antenna to use with it. I saw that I needed one on my vehicle which I drove to Michigan from Arkansas in the bad weather we are having. It is nice to see how one can adjust the antenna. On my old CB I could transmit over 30 miles easily, but know the new ones are less powerful, but still useful.
Hey I was thinking about getting into radios again and I picked up a set of 4 foot duel fiber glass antennas and I'm not looking to talk to people like 100 miles away so I was thinking about putting them outside my window but there's another house right behind mine but do u think it's a good idea?
Very helpful video!!......thanx man....
Hey, so I sorted out my poorly tuned antenna, I put a Wilson 500 on and I am now 1.2 on 1 and 1.3 on 40. But my new problem is when I test my Swr on 20, the needle doesn't move. I calibrate the dial like I did for ch 1-40 but then flick the switch with the mic keyed she drops down and when I key the mic the needle doesn't move. Is this ok?
Does this as apply to ham radio
